Chelsea’s Breaking the Mold with Forever Blue Jersey Campaign

forever-blue-boxChelsea Football Club unveiled their 2014/15 home soccer jersey in early April.  The new look, a 2-toned subtle stripped jersey, is one of the best looking in years and takes its inspiration from the Blues’ jerseys of the 1980’s and 1990’s.

The jersey launches today, April 30, and the Chelsea Mega Store USA is offering a rare opportunity for fans to win a limited edition autographed 5-player set of miniature sculptures.  Only 25 sets of these sculptures were made by adidas!

forever-blue-openboxEach set will come in a specially designed box that will have a signing panel on the inside lid that will include the autographs of the players, Petr Cech, Fernando Torres, Cary Cahill, Oscar, and Eden Hazard.

The sculptures are 5 inches in height with a Blue matte finish.  The miniatures were created by scanning the original full-size player sculptures used as part of the ‘Forever Blue’ campaign and creating the scaled down versions using 3D printing.

The players immortalized in this sculpture set were selected for being the focus of iconic moments in the history of the London club.

forever-blue-cech2Cech’s moment came when he dove to his left to deny Bayern Munich’s Bastian Schweinsteiger on the 5th and final attempt in the 2012 UEFA Champions League final shootout to set the table for the club to win their first Champions League title.

forever-blue-torresFernando Torres knocked home the opening goal against Benfica in the 2013 UEFA Europa League final.  The 2-1 win was Chelsea’s first Europa League title and helped the Blues to rare back-to-back wins in UEFA’s top 2 club competitions.

forever-blue-oscarOscar did his damage in Europe and left Juventus players shaking their heads with his perfectly curled shot in from 25-years in the group stage of the 2012/13 Champions League.  The Brazilian midfielder, who was making his first start for Chelsea, scored a brace in the 2-2 draw.

forever-blue-hazardEden Hazard has been pure class since signing with Chelsea in 2012.  He etched his name in the club record book when he became the youngest player to knock in a hat-trick.  The 23-year-old completed the 3-goal performance against Newcastle earlier this year.

Gary Cahill’s moment came off a stunning volley that left Tottenham Hotspur goalkeeper Brad Friedel with no chance in the London derby during the 2012/13 campaign.  The strike went viral on social media.forever-blue-cahill
