Costa Rica Debut New Kits for World Cup Return
Traditional CONCACAF powers Costa Rica return to the World Cup this summer after missing out back in 2010. In preparation for their run in Brazil Los Ticos have launched their 2014/15 home and away kits from Lotto Sport Italia.
Since Costa Rica will be Lotto’s only team at the World Cup, they’ve created a spanking new jersey design for the seven-time Copa Centroamericana winners (including the last one in 2013).
The new shirts feature standing collars with contrasting neck inserts. They are highlighted by modern sash-like bands running from the left to right on the jerseys with vertical endings. The text “TICOS CONTIGO” (“Ticos With You”) in printed on the inside neck area of the red home and white away kits while the text “COSTA RICA” appears on the rear outer collar of both.
Costa Rica debuted their 2014 World Cup home uniform in a 2-1 win over Paraguay in San Jose last Wednesday evening.
Los Ticos have the unenviable task of getting past England, Italy and Uruguay in the group stage of the 2014 World Cup if they are to advance to the tournament’s Round of 16.
