The only team to have played continuously in the top tier of soccer in Germany since the end of World War I, Hamburger SV will kick off their 2014/15 Bundesliga season against 1. FC Koln on Saturday.
The match will be Hamburg’s second competitive fixture of the new German football calendar following their hard fought DFB Pokal win over Energie Cottbus last weekend.
HSV will wear a set of three adidas match kits for their 2014/15 league and cup seasons.
Die Rothosen (The Red Shorts’) home strip is in the team’s famous white with red and blue accents. This year’s version has a prominent stripe in said red and blue running down its center. The stripe uses a chevron effect around the sponsor logo.
The Hamburg 14/15 away jersey opts for a contemporary crewneck look with a series of horizontal stripes on its front. The team’s diamond is included in the striping.
Finally, the Hamburger SV 2014/15 third kit is all red. It uses adidas’ now ubiquitous Condivo 14 shirt template with touches of red courtesy of adidas branding and sleeve and collar trim.
All three shirts have a golden diamond embroidered above the HSV badge in recognition of the storied club’s 1983 European Cup (now the UEFA Champions League) and Intercontinental Cup (now the FIFA World Club Cup) double.
