With 4 stars on their national team crest for their World Cup titles, Italy is the 2nd most decorated side in the game. The all blue home jersey is iconic in team sports. And on Monday, Puma unveiled the new home and away soccer jerseys that the Azzurri will wear at the World Cup in Brazil this summer.
The jersey will make its on-field debut when Italy face Spain on Wednesday in the final FIFA international fixture date before May.
The collar and placket give a great new look to the jersey. The button-down collar with center placket button give a cool look. It really stands out with the Green/White/Red colors of the Italian flag a feature at the top of the placket.
The touch of Green/White/Red is continued on the outer half of the cuff of the sleeve and of course as part of the team badge. The badge has ‘ITALIA’ and “FIGC’ in exclusive federation lettering and of course includes the 4 stars from winning titles in 1934, 1938, 1982, and 2006. To help enhance the slim fit, a white side detail is included.
Puma unveiled the Italy away jersey at the same launch event. The white jersey has vertical grey pinstripes and a subtle v-neck crew collar. The base of the collar has blue detailing along with the outer half of the sleeve cuff. The side detailing is in green and red on the away jersey.
The Puma logo is on the right chest and sleeves of both jerseys.
