Coming off their best Barclays Premier League season in some time, Liverpool FC today unveiled a bright yellow change kit for the 2014/15 season from American sportswear firm Warrior. Accented with red, the new uniform is the first yellow kit for LFC since the 2006/07 season.
Featuring a contemporary crewneck collar, the new jersey takes a decidedly modern twist a red stripe running across the shirt’s upper chest and down onto each side. The stripe continues on the uniform’s yellow shorts.
Liverpool FC’s Eternal Flames appear the club’s 96 logo on the nape of the shirt’s neck to in recognition of the 1989 Hillsborough Disaster in which ninety six of the club’s supporters perished.
Club manager Brendan Rogers commented, “We’re looking to build a new era at the club, while remembering this club’s great history. Special moments in a yellow shirt include the FA Cup final in 2001. This shirt is one the fans and the players will respond to.”
Liverpool will debut their 2014/15 Warrior alternate kit during today’s post-season friendly meeting with League of Ireland side Shamrock FC.
